Tresfjord Marine AS; cover, cost and conditions

Tresfjord boats come from Norway. The name refers to the village of Tresfjord in Vestnes, Møre og Romsdal, where the builders are based. They make motor cruisers with a cabin, shaped by Norwegian conditions: solid, seaworthy and meant for runs along fjords and coast. The Tresfjord 29 of the seventies and eighties is regarded as a classic, and many are still in use. Later models carry names that point to seas and far horizons, such as Adriatic, Atlantic and Bahama, or the label Ultra.

Our records hold 14 Tresfjord entries, all motor yachts, spanning almost six decades. The Tresfjord Lux appears from 1968 and the Lux 26 from 1970, followed by the 28 and 29, the Nova, the Ultra and 9000 Ultra and the 340 Ultra Bahama of 1988 to 1994. From 2003 come the 240 Adriatic, also as an outboard version, and the 390 Atlantic, from 2010 the 360 FB, and from 2015 the Ultra 360 FB, which reaches the most recent build years. Lengths run from 7.7 metres for the 240 Adriatic to 12.25 metres for the 390 Atlantic.

These are boats for rocky shores and long summer evenings at anchor. Most live on a pontoon through the season and spend winter ashore under a frame and tarp, as is usual in Norway. Older Tresfjords often have their original inboards, so a look at shaft seals, exhaust hoses and the fuel system belongs to every spring check, and a well kept cabin makes them fine weekend homes on the water.
