Wolfrat; cover, cost and conditions
Wolfrat is a name from the classic era of motorboats, with every recorded model dating from the 1960s and 1970s. We have found no reliable source on where the yard was based or how it began, so this page sticks to what our records show. The range is easy to read: two small boats for weekends and day trips, then four motor yachts from eight to just over ten metres. The names say what each was for, Traveller and Weekender for short outings, Senior and Super Continental for longer passages and nights aboard.
Our model records list six Wolfrat designs, four motor yachts and two motorboats. The boats are the 6.15 m Traveller, recorded from 1965 to 1978, and the 6 m Weekender outboard, built from 1965 to 1973. The yachts are the Senior 26 at 8 m (1966 to 1975), the Senior 31 at 9.44 m (1967 to 1975), the Super Continental at 9.9 m (1965 to 1973) and the Wolfrat Sport Craft at 10.2 m (1966 to 1974), the largest model on the list. Build years run from 1965 to 1978, lengths from 6 to 10.2 m.
Boats of this age live or die by maintenance. The Traveller and Weekender can be towed to a slipway for the day and stored at home, while the Senior models, the Super Continental and the Sport Craft are marina boats. Wiring, fuel lines and engine mounts deserve a close look before purchase, and a winter in a shed does more for an old hull and its woodwork than any polish.

For the Traveller, Weekender outboard by Wolfrat series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the Senior 26, Senior 31, Wolfrat Sport Craft by Wolfrat and further series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
