Worth knowing
AHPC; cover, cost and conditions
Seven AHPC models are on record, built between 1985 and 2020: four sport catamarans, two sailing catamarans and one open sailing boat. They include the Viper and Viper Strike, the Taipan 4.9, the C2 Formula 18 and the smaller 430 and G14 from the Goodall Design range. Lengths sit close together between 4.3 and 5.5 metres.
Use is the heart of the cover for AHPC catamarans. Whether the catamaran is raced belongs in the application, because capsize, rig damage and transport damage are the typical exposures. Liability is the basis, and as the boats are of trailerable size, transport can be included. For older model years such as a Taipan 4.9 from the eighties an agreed value is clearer than a depreciated value.
NAMMERT insures AHPC catamarans regardless of year of build and place of purchase, including boats bought second hand abroad. Whether it is a Viper or a C2 Formula 18, the premium is worked out in the online calculator in five minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is racing an AHPC Viper covered?
Racing use belongs in the application. It is taken into account when the cover is arranged.
What applies to transporting a Taipan 4.9 to a regatta?
Transport on the trailer can be added to the hull cover. On AHPC catamarans of around five metres this is an important element when the boat is moved by road.

Taipan 4.9 is a cabin catamaran from AHPC, built from 1985 to 2018.
Goodall Design 430 is an open catamaran from AHPC, built from 2012 to 2017.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
Open catamarans are beached and trailed, so most damage happens ashore and in transit, not on the water.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
