Blubay Yachts is a name for large sailing catamarans in superyacht size. The company draws the naval architecture and has the yachts built by specialist yards. Take the Blubay 102: Blubay designed the hulls, Yachts Industries built her, and she was delivered in 2007 at 30.3 metres. Hull and superstructure are epoxy and GRP under a teak deck, with exterior and interior styling by Coste Design & Partners. You know a Blubay by its very wide platform, a big saloon bridging the hulls and a size well beyond the usual cruising cat.
Our records list five Blubay models. Four are sailing catamarans: Blubay 72', Blubay 102', Luxury 115 and Hemisphere 123. The fifth, the Blubay Tender Cat 45, is filed as a motor yacht. All start in 2002; the Blubay 72' runs to 2009 and the other four to 2012. Lengths go from 13.65 metres for the Tender Cat 45 through 22.8 metres (Blubay 72') and 30.28 metres (Blubay 102') to 35 metres for the Luxury 115 and 40.1 metres for the Hemisphere 123.
