Cantieri Parisi Nautica; cover, cost and conditions

Cantieri Parisi Nautica is an Italian yard from the country's west coast, founded in 1979 with boatbuilding roots going back to the 1930s. It later became part of the InRizzardi group, which brought together several builders along that coast. Parisi builds in the style of the gozzo, the traditional Tyrrhenian fishing boat with a rounded bow, upright stem and beamy hull. On the 850 the yard pairs a fibreglass hull with a teak deck and a wooden toe rail. The name Ponza, after the island off the Lazio coast, marks the main line.

The motorboats are the Ponza 600, the Ponza 75 in Traditionale and Cabinato form and the Gavi 27; the motor yachts are the Ponza 850 and Ponza 900. These are day boats for the coast: swimming coves, lunch at anchor, a few hours with a fishing line. The smaller ones up to about 7.5 metres travel well on a trailer. Teak decks want gentle cleaning and the occasional oiling, and wooden rails need fresh varnish now and then if the boat is to keep its traditional look.
