With the Twin Surfer one open catamaran is recorded, built between 1996 and 2005. No further ranges are available. On a sailing craft the sail area takes the place of engine power; alongside the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range it is the factor that determines the premium.
For the hull insurance the agreed figure counts. We record it as an agreed value and pay indemnity with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Covered are collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts, plus fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the whole boat.
If the catamaran is taken to the sailing area on a trailer, the trailer is covered by the third-party liability at no extra premium from Basis-Plus, provided it is named in the application with its value, and cover applies while in transport, during launching and in winter storage. You can add it to the hull cover for a premium. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, races with ranking status you report when taking out the policy.

What determines the premium for a sailing craft?
For Cat-Yachting: Instead of engine power, the sail area enters the calculation,
together with the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range.

Are club regatta starts covered?
