Worth knowing
Catanautica; cover, cost and conditions
The Catalanta 25 is the only range recorded under Catanautica, a cabin catamaran from the years of construction 1976 to 1983. Whether it is moved under sail or under engine is not recorded in our data. For boat insurance the details on the individual boat are sufficient in any case.
We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and small series and home-built boats can be insured as well. We record the value as an agreed value in the contract and pay compensation in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
A multihull of these years of construction spends part of the year ashore. Cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route, and a boat trailer is included at no extra premium. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is the Catalanta 25 covered during craning and in winter storage?
Yes. Cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route. Limited hull cover expressly names damage in winter storage as insured.
Does it matter that the catamaran dates from the seventies?
No. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The agreed value is stated in the contract and is replaced with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

Series by Catanautica, build years and cover
Catalanta 25 is a cabin catamaran from Catanautica, built from 1976 to 1983.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
