Corthinx is a Polish maker of catamarans and motorboats with its factory in Wałbrzych, Lower Silesia, where a digitally controlled milling machine shapes the moulds. The range includes the CX Powercats; the CX1000 power catamaran was drawn by the Yacht Design Collective. Every boat carries the CX prefix. On some models the name gives the length away: the CX1000 measures 1000 centimetres, the CX Pandora 8.50 exactly 8.50 metres.
Our model records list seven Corthinx designs: three sailing catamarans, one power catamaran and three motorboats. The sailing catamarans are the 8.5 metre CX Pandora 8.50, the 13.5 metre CX44 Performance and the 13.99 metre CX450, the longest model. The CX1000 power catamaran measures 10 metres. The motorboats are the 9.4 metre CX Daisy and the CX Tender Limo and WW120 at 12 metres each. All seven are recorded from build year 2019 into the newest years, so the whole range is young.
A catamaran needs width: a double berth or an end pontoon, and a crane or travel lift wide enough for both hulls. In return it sits flat at anchor and can dry out on a beach where tides allow. Two engines on the CX1000 mean two sets of saildrives or shafts to service each season.
