DAS Yacht Center Company; cover, cost and conditions
DAS Yacht Center is a Polish yard based in Warsaw. Its founder started building boats in 1979, worked professionally at a shipyard from 1984 and set up his own company in 1988, which became a private yard after the political changes of 1990. Hulls are made of laminate; on the early boats the yard combined plastic hulls with wooden decks and interiors. The range spans sailing boats, motorboats and cabin cruisers, from the little Albatros 4.30 up to the G-Force 1500 catamaran, and boats have gone to customers across Europe as well as Thailand, the USA and Russia. The design most associated with the yard is the Sympathy 600, a six metre sailing boat with its own class association that has run regattas for many years.

Build years start in 1992 with the Ocean 725e and the Sympathy 600, and seven designs reach into the most recent build years. The Sympathy appears in four versions, and the Sympathy 600 T has run without a break since 1996. The Ocean line, with the 725, 760 and 950, ended between 2001 and 2005. The Voyager went from the 780 through the 860 and 810 to today's Voyager 860 at 8.38 metres. The Albatros 4.30 is the smallest at 4.3 metres, the G-Force 1500 the largest at 15.45 metres, and the Courier 1300 motor yacht measures 13.1 metres.
With so many boat types under one name, what to check depends on the model. On a Sympathy or Ocean, look at the keel and rudder fittings, the mast step and the age of the sails; class racing boats may have been sailed hard. On the older Ocean models with wooden decks, check for soft spots, loose plugs and leaks around fittings, since teak or plywood over laminate needs regular attention. The Voyager and Poseidon motorboats call for a look at engine hours, the fuel system and the steering. The small Albatros and Dixi are trailer boats, so a sound road trailer with working lights and brakes matters too.
