Davy & Ørsted; cover, cost and conditions
In our records Davy & Ørsted is a compact range of motorboats from just under 7 to 12 metres. We could not verify where the brand is based or how it began, so this page relies on the model data alone. Most models carry just a number that hints at the length in centimetres: the 950 is exactly 9.5 metres, the 1050 exactly 10.5 metres and the 650 a little longer at 6.9 metres. Two models have names of their own, the Marshal 700 and the Moonraker 1200, and their numbers match lengths of 7 and 12 metres.
Our model records list seven Davy & Ørsted motorboats: the 650, 750, 750 R, 950, 1050, Marshal 700 and Moonraker 1200. The 750 R comes first, recorded from 2004 to 2012. The others start in 2010, the 950 not until 2014, and all six run into the latest build years. Lengths range from the 6.9 metre 650 to the 12 metre Moonraker 1200. Three models sit between 6.9 and 7.62 metres (the 650, Marshal 700 and 750 R), the 750 measures 8 metres, and the 950 and 1050 follow above. Oddly, the older 750 R is shorter at 7.62 metres than the later 750 at 8 metres.
The range splits naturally in two. The boats around 7 metres can be towed, launched at a slipway for a weekend and kept at home over winter. From 9.5 metres they become marina boats for coastal cruising and large lakes, where a fixed berth, shore power and regular hull cleaning are part of the routine. With most models still recent, keeping service records and receipts for equipment pays off when the boat changes hands.
