Dipol Glass is a Spanish yard based in the province of Huelva, in the far south west of the country. It started out building boats for professional use, and when it moved into leisure craft it kept the same priorities: a sturdy build, good stability and a hull that planes easily. The three digit number roughly gives the length in centimetres, so a 580 is about 5.8 metres. Older models carry Spanish names such as Fragata, Corbeta or Albatros, newer ones the letters D, CP and P with suffixes like Timonera for the wheelhouse version and Pescador for the fishing layout.
Our model records list 24 Dipol models: 23 motorboats and the 600-CP Timonera, filed as a motor yacht. Build years run from 2000 to 2027, and 13 models continue into current production. Lengths range from 3.5 to 7.5 metres, with half between 5.75 and 6.26 metres. The older named models mostly ended in 2008 or 2012; only the 510 Fragata Cabina is still offered. The CP series now carries the range, from the 5.77 metre 580 CP to the 6.66 metre 600-CP Sport, joined by the P-580 Pescador, the P 680 Foreno and the 7.47 metre 25-CC centre console.
These are day boats for coastal fishing and family trips, and most spend the off season on a trailer. What sets the value of a used Dipol is the detail: the age and hours of the engine, whether a wheelhouse is fitted, the electronics and fishing gear, and how the hull has fared at the slipway.
