Everglades Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Everglades Boats is based in Edgewater on Florida's east coast, south of Daytona Beach, and builds outboard powered fishing and leisure boats. Its hallmark is the patented RAMCAP method: a pre-moulded, high density foam core is fitted between hull and liner in a closed mould. The boats are foam filled as a result, and the yard markets them as unsinkable. The three digit model number roughly gives the length in feet times ten, and the letters behind it mark the type: CC for centre console, DC for dual console, Pilot for boats with an enclosed wheelhouse, EX and LX for express models.
Our model records list 32 Everglades models, 28 motorboats and four motor yachts. Recorded build years start in 2007 and eleven models are still in production. Lengths run from 6.6 metres for the 210 CC to 13.7 metres for the 435 CC, with half the models between 7.8 and eleven metres. The centre console line covers almost every size from the 210 CC through the 243, 255, 273, 295, 325, 335, 355 and 365 to the 395 CC and 435 CC. Alongside sit the 230 DC and 340 DC dual consoles, the 290, 295 and 325 Pilot boats and the 320 EX, 350 EX, 350 LX and 360 LXC.
Foam filling keeps a holed hull afloat, but it does not keep a boat off a sandbar. The large consoles run two to four outboards and a good deal of electronics, while the smaller models up to about eight metres often live on a trailer.

As the Everglades 235 CC, Everglades 243 CC,
Everglades 253 CC by Everglades Boats and 8 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Everglades 350 LX, Everglades 355 CC,
Everglades 360 LXC by Everglades Boats and 18 more series the market value and the replacement
cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Everglades 235 CC, Everglades 243 CC,
Everglades 253 CC by Everglades Boats and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the Everglades 340 DC, Everglades 435 CC,
Everglades 350 LX by Everglades Boats and further series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
