One motor boat with the name Chirla from the years of construction 1977 to 1984 has come down to us. After that the record breaks off, further ranges are missing. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, so that a boat from that period too comes into cover in the normal way.
A boat that has been sailing for decades usually carries newer technology: chart plotter, radio, echo sounder, charger. This equipment belongs in the schedule attached to the policy, because only what is named goes into the agreed value of the full hull cover and is settled with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Theft of parts including the outboard is covered in the full hull cover, as are collision, grounding and vandalism. The limited hull cover applies to fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage. There is no time window and no night clause.
