Fishboat SIA; cover, cost and conditions

Fishboat SIA is a Latvian builder of aluminium motorboats sold under the Vizion name. Production is in Rēzekne in eastern Latvia, in series and with CE certification according to the Latvian Investment and Development Agency. The boats are aimed at day trippers and anglers. You can tell them by the aluminium hull and by three digit model numbers that give roughly the length in centimetres, with suffixes such as RS, S or OCS for different layouts. The yard's own website now shows a wider range that goes up to the Vizion 650.

Our records list eight Vizion models, all motorboats: the 410, 440 OCS, 440 RS, 470, 470 S, 500, 560 and 600. The 500 and 600 date from 2017, five models from 2018 and the 560 from 2019, and all eight run into the most recent build years. Lengths go from 4.1 metres for the Vizion 410 to 6 metres for the Vizion 600. Both 440s measure 4.43 metres, both 470s 4.7 metres, the 500 is 5.04 and the 560 is 5.6 metres long, so six of the eight stay under 5.1 metres.

Light aluminium boats like these live on a trailer and go where the fish are: lakes, rivers, the Baltic shore. Aluminium shrugs off a rocky slipway better than gelcoat, but it dislikes stray current, so check anodes and keep the electrics tidy. After salt water a freshwater rinse of hull, trailer and outboard is worth the ten minutes.
