Gommonautica GO. TEK. S.r.l. keeps its naming short: a G, a number and sometimes a letter. S.r.l. is the Italian limited company form, and gommone is the Italian word for an inflatable boat. The number gives the length in decimetres, more or less: the G 26 measures 2.62 metres, the G 43 C 4.3 metres and the G 100 C 10 metres. The letter separates variants of the same size, such as the G 43 C, G 43 N and G 43 S.
Our model records hold 13 designs: eight inflatables and five RIBs. Build years start in 1990 with the G 26, and most inflatables date from 1991 to 1999, the G 43 S to 2000. Rigid hulls arrive in 2004 with the G 48, followed by the G 48 C, G 65 C, G 43 C and G 100 C between 2010 and 2012. Those four RIBs are recorded into the latest build years. The G 65 Y runs from 2004 to 2015 as an inflatable. Lengths range from 2.62 metres for the G 26 to 10 metres for the G 100 C, and the name G 48 C appears twice, once as a nineties inflatable and once as a RIB from 2010.
The range splits in two. The nineties inflatables are small tenders where tube condition decides almost everything, so look closely at seams and valves. The current RIBs are powered boats up to 10 metres that spend much of their life on a trailer, which makes a well set up trailer, a lock for the outboard and fresh water rinsing after each trip part of the routine.
