Hudson Yacht Group; cover, cost and conditions
The Hudson Yacht Group is the company behind HH Catamarans. The brand was founded in 2012 by the entrepreneur and sailor Hudson Wang. The two letters stand for him and for Paul Hakes, an experienced boatbuilder from New Zealand. Most of the boats are built in Xiamen, China, and a second factory has been set up in Cebu in the Philippines. The range is made up of fast cruising catamarans that aim to combine sailing performance with living space. The newer HH models are easy to place by their hybrid drive, which pairs diesel with electric motors, and by short type names made of the two letters and the length in feet.
Our model records list two designs, both sailing catamarans. The HH52 appears with build years 2018 to 2023 and measures 17.05 metres. It succeeded the HH50 and runs on diesel-electric hybrid propulsion. The HH44 follows with build years 2020 to 2024 at 13.43 metres; it is the smallest boat of the brand and is hybrid as well. Neither line reaches the most recent build years in our records. These are young boats, then, but no longer new in the range, and they are starting to appear on the used market.
A hybrid catamaran brings systems that a conventional cruiser does not have. On a used HH, ask for the battery bank's age and capacity tests, the service history of the generators and electric motors, and the software versions of the control systems. Wherever carbon or cored laminates are used, they deserve a survey by someone who knows composite construction. Daggerboards or keels, rudder bearings and the bridgedeck clearance under load are further points. Many owners sail these boats far from home, so a full log of where the boat has been is valuable.

On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part,
