ITA Catamarans, which also trades as Itacatamarans, is the project of Italian entrepreneur and sailor Emanuele Caprini. The idea took shape in 2016 and the company started out as a start-up a year later. Building takes place in the Marche region on the Adriatic, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino. The lines come from the French studio Yacht Design Collective, with structural engineering by Rivoyre Ingénierie. What sets the yard apart is the way it builds: hull and deck are infused with epoxy resin in a single shot, reinforced fore and aft and athwartships with carbon. Each yacht is fitted out on a semi-custom basis, and the model name gives the length in metres.
Our model records hold one design from ITA Catamarans, the ITA 14,99. It is listed as a sailing catamaran 14.99 metres long, recorded from build year 2017 and reaching into the most recent build years, so the line is still in production. With a beam of 7.80 metres it offers the deck and saloon space typical of cruising catamarans around 50 feet. The larger ITA 15.49, which the yard now also offers, does not yet appear in our records. Because every boat is finished to its owner's wishes in joinery, electronics and rig, two yachts with the same name can differ noticeably.
