Jachtwerf Lauwersmeer; cover, cost and conditions

This yard takes its name from the Lauwersmeer, the lake on the border between Friesland and Groningen. The first boat of that name was built there in 1969, literally in the open air; in 1998 the business passed to new owners and moved to Noardburgum. What is built are steel displacement yachts for inland water and sheltered coast, several hundred boats over the years. You recognise them by the curved steel hull with its soft sheer, the heavy rubbing strake and the wheelhouse with its large upright windows; the flybridge models carry a second steering deck above.
