Jones Brothers Marine is based in Morehead City on the North Carolina coast and was founded in 1989 by boatbuilders Rob and Donnie Jones. It builds fishing boats for coastal water: the Bateau skiffs and the V-hulled Cape Fisherman. The hulls are meant to run shallow yet still handle rough water offshore, the mix that inshore and nearshore fishing around the Carolina capes calls for. The number in each name is roughly the length in feet, so the Bateau 17 measures 5.36 metres and the Cape Fisherman 26 7.83 metres.
