Two lines stand side by side here: the Picnic Boat 34 and 40 from 1994 to the present, and the Bermuda 40 and Sou’wester with production periods from 1960 to 2000. For boats from the early years of construction, the agreed value governs which value applies in the event of a claim.

There is no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. This keeps even a yacht built in the sixties or seventies calculable. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, and that applies to sail as much as to power.

The Picnic Boat runs without a propeller, and that changes the pattern of damage. Grounding and collision are included in the full hull cover, as are vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard. The cruising range and the engine power feed into the premium.

Is there an age limit for the agreed value?

For Hinckley: Not in the Premium tariff.
