The name belongs to Kaiser Boote, a small boatyard at Straßkirchen in Bavaria. According to a boat marketplace, the business started in 2009 and builds its boats in its own shed with a team of fewer than ten people. It makes motorboats, and the model names follow a simple pattern: a K followed by the length, sometimes in centimetres as with the K 650, sometimes in metres as with the K 5.2. Anyone who sees a Kaiser on a trailer or at a jetty can read its size straight from the name. A small inland builder of this kind turns out boats in modest numbers rather than on a production line.
