Kaper Yachts is a Polish builder of motorboats and motor yachts with hulls in glass reinforced plastic. Its range runs from the 4.71 metre Kaper 471 to 11 metre yachts. Two naming systems sit side by side: the three digit numbers of the smaller boats give the length in centimetres, so the Kaper 471 is 4.71 metres and the Kaper 825 8.25 metres long, while the yachts carry two digit numbers with a letter, such as 24C, 28 M or 36A. Specification listings describe the 28 M as a walkaround, the 36M as a displacement yacht and the 36A as an aft cabin yacht.
Our model records hold 11 Kaper entries, six motorboats and five motor yachts. The Kaper 24C appears twice, as a motor yacht from 2012 and as a motorboat from 2018, which leaves ten model names. The Kaper 28 M starts in 2010, almost everything else in 2012, and every line runs into the latest build years. Lengths go from 4.71 metres (Kaper 471) to 11 metres (Kaper 36A and 36M). Several boats share a length: the Kaper 685 and 24C both measure 6.85 metres, and the Kaper 825, 28 M and 28C all 8.25 metres.
The smaller Kaper boats tow well behind a car and suit lakes, rivers and day trips along the coast, launched from a slipway. The 8.25 and 11 metre yachts are berth boats, and a displacement hull like the 36M favours calm, economical cruising with long stays aboard. Laying the engine up properly and spending the winter ashore keeps these young hulls in good shape.
