Luna Catamarans is a Polish company, as the Sp. z o.o. in its name indicates, and works with the Croatian partner Luna Charter. The brand draws on Poland's shipbuilding tradition and builds cabin catamarans in two sizes, 47 and 49 feet, each available under sail or as a power catamaran. Hulls are made by resin infusion, which gives light and stiff laminates. Many people first come across the boats in Split, where MCI Marine Club International runs a fleet of Luna 49s for charter. The Luna 49 is certified to design category A, meaning it is built for open ocean passages.

All four start in 2019 and run into the most recent build years. Lengths sit close together, with both 47s at 14.2 metres and both 49s at 14.9 metres, so sail and power versions share the same hull length. According to the builder, the Luna 49 has four guest cabins, room for ten people and a draught of 1.40 metres, while the 47 Power offers a cabin layout that can be adapted. Other sources date the 49 from 2020 and the 49 Power from 2022; our records place all four from 2019.
Two hulls mean twice the underwater area to look after: antifouling, drive legs or shafts, rudders and their bearings all come in pairs. On a used Luna that has spent years in charter, the engine hours, the condition of the drive seals and the wear on the bridgedeck and nets deserve a close look. Infusion-built laminates are light and stiff, but impact marks on the bows from mooring in busy harbours should be checked by a surveyor. Charter boats are usually well serviced, yet heavy use leaves traces in galley, heads and upholstery. Ask for the maintenance log, and check that the generator and watermaker, if fitted, have been run regularly.
