Manatee Boats is a name from the 1970s, when small fibreglass motorboats arrived on lakes and rivers in large numbers. In our records the brand stands for a compact family of open boats and small cuddy cruisers. Two naming systems sit side by side: numbered models with a four digit figure and a letter, such as 1450 R, 1650 T or 1850 L, and the cabin boats called Manatee Cruiser I and II. A Manatee today is usually a cherished used boat that tows easily behind a car.
