Maestro 35, Delphin 570 and Delphin 740 are the three recorded ranges, built between 1985 and 1994; the Maestro 35 is a sailing yacht, the two Delphin are motorboats. For boats from those years the agreed value is the core of hull cover and is set when the policy is taken out.
In the event of a claim we pay it with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff without any age limit. The year of construction does not stand in the way of a contract: we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and small production runs and home-built boats are insurable as well.
Sailing yacht and motorboat are calculated differently: with the Maestro 35 the sail area counts, with the Delphin models the engine power. In addition there are the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros remains the basis in both cases.

How is the value of a boat from 1985 determined?
Through the agreed value that we set when the policy is taken out. In the event of a claim we pay this amount with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff without any age limit.
Do you calculate differently for the sailing yacht?
Yes. With sailing yachts the sail area enters into the premium, with motorboats the engine power. The type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range count in both cases.

On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
