Micore is a Swedish name for small open motorboats. The business, today run as Micore Boats AB and filed in our data as Micore Plast AB, was founded in 1979 by Göte Gustavsson and is still a family firm, now led by his children Malin and Peter Tholérus. The boats are built in fibreglass for Scandinavian buyers. The suffixes tell the layout: CC is a centre console, SC a side console, and the number usually gives the length in centimetres, as with the 460 or the 630.
Our records list 17 Micore models, all motorboats. Six carry the Offshore name, four belong to the Xw range and three to the early GT family; the 550 CC, the 500 CC and the 460 Fishing and 460 Flexible complete the list. The earliest build year is 2003, shared by the 500 GT, 550 GT, 550 GTX and 630 Offshore, and ten lines run into the latest model years, among them all four Xw boats. Lengths go from 4.6 metres (460 Fishing, 460 Flexible) to 6.45 metres (Xw63cc).
These are trailer boats at heart, launched for a morning's fishing, a run through the skerries or the trip out to a summer cabin. Rinse hull and engine with fresh water after salt runs, check the trailer bearings and lights each spring, and keep the boat tilted and drained when it stands outside. Over winter most are stored dry in a barn or boat hall.
