Worth knowing
Navi Composites; cover, cost and conditions
A cabin catamaran from a single range: for Navi Composites the Saiga is on record, built from 1984 to 1992. We have no further information, and we add nothing here. Small production runs and home-built boats can be insured with us, even when production lies far in the past.
With a boat from the eighties, the question of value is the core of the policy. We agree an agreed value and pay with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners are no obstacle to taking out a policy.
Multihulls need more space during craning and in winter storage than monohulls, but that changes nothing about the cover. It applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while the boat is being transported. There, limited hull cover includes fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a catamaran from the eighties still be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. The value is agreed as an agreed value, in the Premium tariff with no age limit in full hull cover.
Does the cover also apply ashore?
The cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while the boat is being transported. Damage in winter storage is part of limited hull cover; vandalism and theft of parts are part of full hull cover.

Series by Navi Composites, build years and cover
Saiga is a cabin catamaran from Navi Composites, built from 1984 to 1992.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
