Worth knowing
Nexus Yachts CC; cover, cost and conditions
The Balance range comprises five cabin catamarans, the 526 since 2013, the 442 since 2018 as well as the 464, 482 and 502 since 2022, several of them still in build today. Multihulls of this kind are moved over longer distances, and for that we issue the international certificate of insurance automatically.
This certificate covers ten languages, without you having to apply for it separately. You record the cruising range in the contract, it counts alongside the type of boat, value, year of construction and sail area among the factors from which the premium results. The name of the yard plays no part in this.
With sums insured up to 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online, above that an individual assessment follows. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros carries the contract, full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
In which languages is the proof for abroad available?
The international certificate of insurance is issued automatically in ten languages. A separate application is not needed for this, it is part of the contract.
How is a large catamaran yacht taken out?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros online. If the value lies above that, we assess it case by case and draw up the contract on that basis.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
