Worth knowing
Phantom; cover, cost and conditions
Phantom shows two faces in our data: the Flying Phantom ranges as cabin catamarans, built from 2012 to 2024, and the motorboats Phantom 16 to 21 from the years 1992 to 2003. A Phantom 21 and an Essentiel are already sailing in our own portfolio. Both boat worlds can be insured with us under the same roof.
For the older motorboat model ranges the agreed value counts: the sum agreed when the policy is taken out is paid in the event of a total loss with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), and in the Premium tariff full hull cover has no age limit. A Phantom from the nineties is thus insured at the bindingly agreed value, not at a disputed current market value.
For the catamaran ranges the inclusion of racing is of interest: club races are insured from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with scoring status are to be declared when the policy is taken out. On the premium side, the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range count. In this way every Phantom variant receives its own suitable rating.

My Phantom 21 is from the nineties. Can I still get full hull cover?
Yes, for Phantom too: In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit,
and compensation is paid at the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
The year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners are no obstacle to acceptance.
Are races with a Flying Phantom insured?
For Phantom: Club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff upwards.
Races with scoring status are to be declared when the policy is taken out,

For the Flying Phantom Elite, Flying Phantom Essentiel,
Flying Phantom Sport by Phantom and 4 more series the market value and the replacement cost often
differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Phantom 16, Phantom 16 Tandem,
Phantom 18 by Phantom and 4 more series there is no list price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Flying Phantom Elite, Flying Phantom Essentiel,
Flying Phantom Sport by Phantom and further series:
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part,
and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For the Phantom 21 Single, Phantom 21 Tandem, Phantom 21 Twin by Phantom and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
