Revenger Boats; cover, cost and conditions

The Revenger Boat Company was founded in 1980 in Britain and made its name with fast sports boats. In 1994 it moved into rigid inflatables with the Revenger 27, a Don Shead design that put tubes onto a modified sports cruiser hull. The boats were built on the Hamble in southern England until the company went into liquidation in 2016. A Revenger RIB is identified by the number in its name, which gives the length in feet, so a Revenger 27 is 8.33 metres long; the 715 and 760 count in centimetres instead. Inboard in the name marks the versions with an inboard engine.

Our model records list 31 Revenger models: 18 RIBs, ten filed as motor yachts and three as motorboats. Build years run from 1989 to 2016, and none is in current production. Lengths range from 5.9 to 12.2 metres, with half between 7.6 and 9.75 metres. The RIBs run from the 5.9 metre Revenger 19.50 through the 23, 25, 27 and 29 to the 10.5 metre Revenger 34, many also offered as inboards. Alongside them are sports and cabin boats with names such as Monza, Monaco, San Marino, St. Tropez and Volante, plus the Challenger series from 23 to 34; the longest entry is the 12.2 metre Monaco.

Revengers are fast boats, used for coastal blasts, island runs and RIB events, often in choppy water. Much of their value sits in the propulsion: the hours and service history of the outboards or of the inboard diesel and its drive. Tubes, hull and console count too.
