Sea Force IX is a family-run builder in Palmetto, on Florida's Gulf Coast. It was founded by Ron Rookstool, a former sportfishing charter captain who set out to offer a truly custom, fast sport yacht. The yard made its name with made-to-order sportfishing yachts. With the 41.5 Sport CC it announced the first hull of a new line of centre console boats from 41.5 to 56.5 feet, due in the summer of 2017. Construction is fully composite: vinylester and epoxy resins, a high-density PVC core and multi-directional knitted glass. The boats are easy to recognise by the boarding doors on both sides of the transom and the powder-coated aluminium pipework above the helm.
Our model records hold three designs, all from that centre console line. CC stands for centre console, the helm set in the middle of the deck so that anglers can walk all the way round it. A large centre console works hard. Big outboards or inboards push these hulls to high speed, and salt, sun and fish blood take their toll on deck hardware, pumps and wiring.
