Sunward Yachts, registered as Sunward Yacht Corp., was based in Wilmington, North Carolina, on the US East Coast. According to the US Coast Guard manufacturer code it was in business from 1978 to 2003. Its boat is the Sunward 48, an offshore cruising yacht drawn by Sparkman & Stephens. The hull is heavily built, hand laid and solid glassfibre without a core. Not every boat left the yard finished: some hulls were completed by their owners.
