Wato; cover, cost and conditions
Ten model ranges are recorded under Wato, the models 490, 510, 620, 630 and 700 as well as the M range with 16, 19 and 20. The oldest entries begin in 2000, and the 490, 630 and 700 run to the present day. We have nothing on record about the country of origin, and in any case it plays no part in the premium.
Besides the hull and engine, permanently installed electronics and equipment also belong in the sum insured. List these items in the schedule so that the agreed value reflects the full value. In the event of a claim, settlement is then made with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
The boat trailer is covered by the third-party liability at no extra premium from Basis-Plus, provided it is named in the application with its value, and the cover applies during launching and while in transport. You can add it to the hull cover for a premium. Limited hull cover includes fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage. The months ashore are thus covered as well.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Why is the schedule for the sum insured important?
For Wato: Because the agreed value is derived from it.
The hull, the engine and permanently installed electronics and equipment belong in it;
otherwise that value is missing from the settlement.
Does it matter where a boat was built?
No, not for Wato either: The premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction,
engine output and cruising range.
Origin, place of purchase and previous owners remain irrelevant to the cover.
