Boat insurance for Dodecanese
The islands form a crescent along the Turkish coast and the meltemi funnels between them, blowing from the north from mid June into September, usually at four to six on the Beaufort scale. Gusts in the lee of an island are much harder than in the open, and the northern islands around Patmos and Kalymnos see more of it than Rhodes. Most losses happen in harbour: swell rolls into Mandraki, boats work against the quay and anchors cross in a crowded basin.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season runs from April to October and berths are in the low to middle price band, since the marinas at Kos and Rhodes sit next to municipal quays. Leros is the winter yard of the area, with large hardstanding at Lakki and Partheni. If you leave the boat afloat through the summer, put chafe protection on every line.
