Boat insurance for Gulf of Morbihan
The Morbihan is an inland sea with a single door. At Port-Navalo the whole gulf empties and fills twice a day through a channel less than a kilometre wide, and on a big coefficient the stream runs at about nine knots; the Jument current between Berder and the Île de la Jument runs a shade faster. The streams set you off most of the rocks, but not off the Grand Mouton north of the entrance. Eastwards the gulf shoals and oyster beds fill the coves.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season runs from April to October and berths sit in the upper price band: Le Crouesty and La Trinité-sur-Mer are among the dearest in southern Brittany. Le Crouesty carries over 1400 berths plus several hundred spaces ashore, where boats also winter. For Vannes, work the lock into the plan: it opens about two and a half hours either side of high water, and the swing bridge below it opens at set times.
What this means for your policy
The Morbihan falls under the cruising range for the European Atlantic coast, so a policy written for home waters and the near continent may stop short of it. Two questions are worth putting to the contract: does it name grounding and the tow that follows, the way it happens on a rock head or in an oyster bed, and does it answer while the boat dries out in a bay rather than lying in a marina?
