Boat insurance for Cyprus
The island lies at the eastern edge of the Mediterranean, far east of the Aegean routes, and the coast is barely indented: few bays shelter from all directions, so marinas are the refuge in bad weather. In summer a sea breeze builds to three or four Beaufort in the afternoon and dies by evening. From November to April depressions cross the eastern Mediterranean and put northerly and easterly winds of thirty knots and more onto a coast with no bolt hole.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season runs all year and the winter stays mild but wet. Berths are in the middle price band, well above it at the newer marinas, and they are scarce: Larnaca is occupied the year round. Laying up ashore is established on the island and well served. Clearance is done in the ports of the Republic; arriving from the north of the island counts there as illegal entry.
What this means for your policy
Cyprus belongs to the cruising range for Malta and Cyprus; a policy that reaches Greece or Turkey stops short of it. Check whether storm damage at the berth is covered without an extra clause, and whether the cover continues through the months the boat spends ashore while the owner is back home. Both questions are worth asking before the passage east, not after it.
