Albury Brothers Boats has its roots on Man-O-War Cay in the Abacos, Bahamas. The family name there goes back to 1820, when a young sailor called Benjamin Albury came ashore on the cay; his descendants built smacks, sloops, schooners and Abaco dinghies for generations. In 1952 Willard and Benny Albury and their father Maurice started building wooden outboard runabouts and skiffs from Abaco pine. As timber grew scarce the yard turned to fibreglass and made the switch official in 1985. In 2003 most production moved to Riviera Beach in Florida, while a smaller model is still built on Man-O-War. Willard's sons Don and Jamie run the company today.
