Worth knowing
Anytec; cover, cost and conditions
Anytec builds fast aluminium boats in Sweden between 6 and 8.7 metres with a pronounced deep V, boats that run softly in a seaway at high speed and are powered accordingly. High power means two things for the insurance: the third-party liability premium rises along the kW scale, and hull insurance losses turn out harder, because the energy in a loss increases with the square of the speed.
With fast boats a second topic is added: personal injury on board. A jump over a wave at 40 knots regularly leads to back and spinal injuries without any third party being involved. Third-party liability does not respond there, because nobody is liable; the personal accident cover for people on board does. On fast boats carrying passengers it is not an add-on but the building block that closes the actual gap.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Are injuries on board covered when no third party is at fault?
For Anytec: Through the personal accident cover, yes;
it pays in the event of disability and death regardless of the question of fault.
Third-party liability only responds if you are liable towards a third party.

On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the Anytec 960 / 1120 by Anytec series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
