Worth knowing
Alloycraft; cover, cost and conditions
Alloycraft builds small aluminium motorboats. Angling press describes the Deka range as fully equipped aluminium boats with a V keel and a particularly flat casting deck, aimed at spin fishing. The Bass Pro and J series serve the same crowd of anglers and families who want a light, tough boat for lakes, rivers and inshore water. Names combine line and number, and the number is the length in centimetres: the Deka 330 is 3.3 metres long.
Our model records list 13 Alloycraft designs, all motorboats, in four lines: five in the J series (J 370, J 410, J 455, J 500 and J 500 Deluxe), four Deka (330, 365, 395, 445), three Bass Pro (463, 498, 530) and the single P 330. The J 410 appears first in 2016, all others from 2017, and all 13 are recorded into the latest build years. Lengths run from 3.3 metres for the Deka 330 and P 330 to 5.32 metres for the Bass Pro 530.
Aluminium boats like these live on trailers and launch from public ramps, so tyres, lights and winch strap matter as much as the hull. Rinse the boat after salt water, check rivets and welds now and then, and keep the casting deck carpet dry. Outboards, sonars and trolling motors are easy to remove, so take them off or lock them when the boat sits on the driveway.
