Andros Boatworks is a Sarasota yard on Florida's Gulf Coast, set up by Donald Eggebrecht and his sons Andy and Danny to answer demand for fuel-efficient panga-style boats: narrow, high-sided hulls that run long distances on little power. Donald drew the Tarpon 26 himself, and it became the brand's signature boat. In April 2026 Calcutta Marine International bought the company. The model names borrow fish from flats fishing, bonefish, tarpon and permit among them, paired with a number close to the length in feet.
Our model records list seven Andros motorboats. Five begin with build year 2007 (Backwater 18, Bonefish 22, Cuda 23, Tarpon 26 and Permit 22); the Guide 20 and Offshore 32 join in 2012. Six run into the most recent years, while the Permit 22 stops in 2017. Lengths go from 5.52 metres for the Backwater 18 to 10.01 metres for the Offshore 32, with the Guide 20 at 6.10, the Bonefish and Permit at 6.89, the Cuda 23 at 7.17 and the Tarpon 26 at 7.99 metres. Six of the seven stay under eight metres.
These are trailer boats at heart, launched at a different ramp depending on where the fish are. Shallow water calls for a careful eye on the depth sounder and a hull check after any touch. Rinse trailer and outboard with fresh water after salt runs, and the Offshore 32 is happiest on a marina berth.
