Worth knowing
Arctic Cat; cover, cost and conditions
For Arctic Cat a single model range is documented, the Tigershark TS 770 with a construction period from 1996 to 2003. Production therefore lies in the past, and every craft on the market is a second-hand purchase. NAMMERT insures regardless of the year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, so even a long chain of former owners is no obstacle.
With a second-hand purchase what counts is the replacement value and not the original list price. In full hull cover an agreed value is set which is paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation. In the Premium tariff this applies with no age limit, which is worth noting with a year of construction from the nineties.
Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros stands at the start of every policy and is available in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. In addition, NAMMERT offers legal expenses cover for water sports, which applies in a dispute after buying a used boat. The switching service cancels an existing previous policy free of charge.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the number of previous owners matter?
No. We insure regardless of the year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. For the rating, type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range count, not the history of the craft.
How does the switch from a previous policy work?
NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge as part of the switching service. You provide the details of the existing policy and we take care of everything else. Taking out cover online is possible up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros.

Nautical information What counts before you cast off, papers, equipment, waters
Licence
A powerboat licence is required on almost every water.
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; an official number or boat certificate is required.
Waters
In many places only on designated areas; forbidden on Lake Constance and Bavarian waters.
Equipment
Lifejacket, kill switch with lanyard, helmet when racing; check the kill cord before every run.
Cruising range
Up to 2 nm off the coast is advisable; proof of insurance is compulsory in Croatia, Italy and Spain.
Weather
From Beaufort 4 it gets demanding; wind against current builds a steep, short sea.
General guidance, not a complete account; what governs are the rules of the waters you are on and your boat’s manual. Current wind force and direction for your waters are shown on the Home.
Series by Arctic Cat, build years and cover
Tigershark TS 770 is a jet ski from Arctic Cat, built from 1996 to 2003.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a jet ski theft cover and engine output matter. We write them with and without an immobiliser and with no age limit on the craft.
