Clear is an Italian boat brand, and Clear Poker Srl is the company behind it. According to a magazine test, the boats are drawn by Federico Fiorentino of the Milan studio Naumaco, and the Aries Cabin was described as a compact family sports cuddy built for design category C, meaning inshore and sheltered waters. The ranges are named after star signs, Aries, Aquarius, Libra, Taurus and Virgo, and a suffix tells you whether you are looking at an Open boat or a Cabin version with a small cuddy.

Our records list 18 Clear models, 13 motorboats and five motor yachts. Six belong to the Aries range, five to Taurus, four to Aquarius and two to Libra, plus the Clear Virgo TT. Six models carry the Open suffix, six the Cabin suffix, and five are EFB versions, from the Aries EFB Open to the Taurus EFB. Build years begin in 2005 with the first Aries and Taurus boats, and 14 of the 18 models run into the most recent years. Lengths go from 6.15 metres for the Aries to 9.96 metres for the Clear Taurus 9.96 and the Taurus EFB.

The smaller Aries and Aquarius boats of six to seven metres are easy to tow, which suits owners who move between Italian lakes and the coast. Fresh water is kind to a hull, but after a day on the sea the engine wants a flush and the deck a rinse. The Taurus models of nine to ten metres are berth boats: they spend the season in a marina and come out by crane for antifouling and the winter.
