My engine is newer than the boat. How do I state that?
Give the build year of the boat and of the engine separately and state the engine's value. A new outboard raises the total value considerably, and only what is stated is replaced after a loss.
Is hull cover worthwhile on a boat from 1995?
If boat and engine are in good condition, yes. With an agreed fixed value the figure is settled in advance, and hull cover also includes transport, theft and storm damage ashore, where much happens with these boats.
