Cooperyacht is a Dutch yard in Nieuwersluis on the river Angstel, between Utrecht and Amsterdam. Since 2009 it has built sloops and tenders, the open or half-open motorboats that are part of everyday life on Dutch canals, rivers and lakes. The brand began with the Cooper 745, its first own design. The company puts design first and describes its boats as a meeting of comfort, performance and clean lines. The numbers in the model names roughly match the length in centimetres, so a Cooper 800 is a little over eight metres long. Power comes from diesel engines, and for the Cooper 800 the dealer lists a Yanmar.
Our model records list five designs: three motorboats, one motor yacht and one sailing boat. The Cooper 800, filed as a motor yacht, has the longest run and appears from 2014. The Cooper 745 and Cooper 1000 follow from 2015, the Cooper 680 from 2018, and these four reach into the most recent build years. A sloop spends most of its life on short trips with friends, moored at a private jetty or in a town harbour, so the things that wear are cushions, canvas and fenders rather than the hull. Look at the upholstery and the canopy, which suffer most from sun and rain.
