Duotone is the kitesport brand that emerged from North Kiteboarding, with kites, boards and foils for wave, freestyle and freeride, and set values in the four-figure range. At these values and in this sport, the question of the right insurance module matters more than comparing premiums.
A kite set consists of several kites in different sizes, bar, lines, board and harness, together often more than twice the value of a single kite. These items belong in the application individually as accessories. The most frequent damage is a tear in the canopy, and here the rule is: a tear after a crash or contact with an obstacle is an incident, a tear from UV ageing and material fatigue is not.
In kitesport, accident cover is the module that really counts. Injuries arise during launches and landings, during kite looping and in gusts, and they are independent of the value of the equipment. We do not offer third-party liability for wind-driven equipment; check your private liability policy expressly for kitesport, many private contracts exclude or limit it, and personal injury on the beach is the most expensive case imaginable.
