With the Kap 480 motorboat one model range is recorded, built since 2023 and up to the present day. Even with a new boat, cover does not start with the hull insurance but with third-party liability. It covers damage to others and at NAMMERT ranges from a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Which sum applies depends on the tariff tier; Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium are available. Limited hull cover and full hull cover build on this, the latter with an agreed value, with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) and in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Club races are included from Basis-Plus.
A young boat is often trailered and launched several times. The trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium, and the cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while in transit. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online.

How high should the limit of indemnity in third-party liability be?
10 to 50 million euros are available, graduated across the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium tiers. Third-party liability is the basis of the contract, limited hull cover and full hull cover supplement it.
Can I insure a new motorboat directly online?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros online conclusion is possible, above that an examination of the individual case follows. The boat trailer is included at no extra premium.

Kap 480 is a motorboat from Gehr, built since 2023.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
