Gemi Både; cover, cost and conditions

Gemi, also written GeMi, is a Norwegian brand of aluminium motorboats built for Norwegian conditions: fjords, skerries and open coast. The boats are sturdy fishing and touring craft with generous deck space and high load capacity, and the 630 CC is self-bailing. Each name combines a number, roughly the length in centimetres, with a code for the layout: CC for centre console, BF for BigFish, plus BR, GR and the cabin version CAB.

Our model records list 13 Gemi models, all motorboats, in six sizes: 530, 600, 625, 630, 730 and 800. Four carry the CC code, three each BR and BF, two GR and one CAB. Build years begin in 2015 with the 530 CC; the other lines start in 2016 or 2017. Ten lines are recorded into the latest build years, while the three 625 versions end earlier, the BF in 2020 and the BR and CC in 2022. Lengths run from 5.3 metres for the 530 CC to 7.99 metres for the 800 CAB. The 730 alone comes in four versions, CC, BR, BF and GR, all 7.3 metres long.

Aluminium shrugs off rocks and rough launching ramps better than gelcoat, which is why these boats suit rocky shores and trailer use. Galvanic corrosion is the one thing to watch, so check anodes every season and keep stray current away from the hull in the marina. A powerful outboard on the transom also deserves a good lock when the boat sits on a trailer.
