Worth knowing
Glasfiber; cover, cost and conditions
Two motor boats and one sailing boat make up the recorded stock: AM 16 from 1976 to 1983, AM 16 Sport from 1975 to 1982 and the Traekfuglen from 1975 to 1982. Whichever of the three you sail, third-party liability stands at the beginning of every contract.
It covers damage you cause to others with the boat, with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros depending on the tariff tier. Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium differ in sum and extent. Hull cover can be built on top of it, depending on the value and age of the boat.
On the two motor boats the engine output goes into the premium, on the sailing boat the sail area. Added to this are the type of boat, value, year of build and cruising range. For boats from the seventies we agree an agreed value, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How high is the limit of indemnity in third-party liability?
Depending on the tariff tier, between 10 and 50 million euros. Third-party liability is the basis of the contract, and full and limited hull cover come on top as protection for your own boat.
Is a sailing boat rated differently from a motor boat?
Yes. On the sailing boat the sail area counts, on the motor boat the engine output. Type of boat, value, year of build and cruising range go into the premium in both cases.

Series by Glasfiber, build years and cover
AM 16 is a motorboat from Glasfiber, built from 1976 to 1983.
AM 16 Sport is a motorboat from Glasfiber, built from 1975 to 1982.
Traekfuglen is a sailing boat from Glasfiber, built from 1975 to 1982.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
