Green Dream Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Green Dream Boats is a Polish yard building electric catamarans. It started out in Gdańsk and in 2015 moved to Koszęcin in southern Poland, a long way from the sea. The whole idea is quiet boating on sunshine: solar panels on the roof top up the batteries while the boat is under way. Trade press reports name holiday resorts and rental operators as the main buyers, though private owners run them too. A Solliner is easy to recognise by its twin hulls, the open deck for a crowd of guests and the roof that carries the photovoltaic panels.
Our model records hold a single design from the yard, the Solliner, entered as a motor catamaran of 6.2 metres. It is listed from build year 2013 and runs right through to the most recent build years, so the line is still in production. Specialist directories describe the Solliner 21 at exactly this length as an electric or hybrid boat for up to ten people, alongside a 21 S version. According to the yard, the Solliner 21 S reaches eleven to twelve kilometres per hour, which makes it a boat for gliding along lakes and rivers rather than for fast passages. A larger sister, the Solliner 31 Open at 9.75 metres, has since joined the range but does not yet appear in our records.
Living with a solar catamaran is mostly about the electrics. Battery condition is the first thing to check on a used boat: ask for the age of the pack, the charging history and whether the cells have ever been run completely flat. Connections, fuses and the charge controller should be dry and free of corrosion, and the panels on the roof want a clean surface and intact frames. The twin hulls deserve a look along the keel lines, since boats used for rental often touch slipways and pontoons. With little noise and gentle speed, these boats tend to spend long, calm days on inland waters with a full deck of guests.

Series by Green Dream Boats, build years and cover
Solliner is a cabin catamaran from Green Dream Boats, built since 2013.
As the Solliner by Green Dream Boats series is still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Solliner by Green Dream Boats series:
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part,
and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
