Hutchinson appears in our records with a series of inflatable boats built in the 1980s. Hutchinson-Mapa is registered as the owner of trademarks for inflatable boats and accessories such as inflatable seats, foot pumps and trailers. The boats carry the HM prefix and a number that gives the length in centimetres exactly: the HM 240 A is 2.4 metres, the HM 420 P 4.2 metres and the HM 600 H 6 metres. A letter suffix, A, S, P, RI or H, marks the version.

Our records list 12 Hutchinson models, all inflatables. Build years sit close together: the HM 330 S starts in 1982, the other eleven in 1984, and all twelve end in 1992. Three models carry the H suffix (460, 520 and 600), two each the A (240 and 250), P (390 and 420) and RI (420 and 480) suffixes, one the S suffix (330), and two have no letter (300 and 360). Lengths run from the 2.4 metre HM 240 A to the 6 metre HM 600 H.

The small models make handy tenders that fit in a car boot, while the larger ones from 4.6 metres serve as proper outboard boats for lakes and sheltered coasts.
